When Ella was born she came into this world with three easy pushes and then she was here. Do not be fooled by this graceful entrance. She put me through unbelievable drama for four weeks prior to her arrival. I was extremely progressed (I am going to keep it G rated so I will leave it there) but Ella was basically stuck. She would not budge. I even went into false labor. I wouldn’t recommend it. We went to the hospital and she did not want to come. She was just playing with me. This is a true depiction of the girl that I know and love wholeheartedly today. This Ella, the one who tests my patience, drives me crazy, and makes me laugh, is now three. Three! When we saw her and found out Ella was a girl, I imminently fell deeper in love with this chubby cheeked baby. She blew me away. Everything about her was different than Kat. Everything. She is my brown eyed, blonde haired girl. She has a fire inside her that is hard, some would say impossible, to tame. I try to direct that fire, not put it out. She will do great things with that light. She already does.
She also has this tender side to her. This little mama. She loves so hard. Her hugs are tight around the neck, so tight that you can’t help but sigh. She is the first to come and stroke my face if I am sad. She is also the first to bring Abi her paci, without my asking. She longs to play, hold, and care for her baby sister Abi. She delights in Kat’s praises (which are few when you are the “annoying” little sister). She also delights in the praises of mom and dad (which are many since one of her love languages is words of affirmation).
Once I started to watch Ella’s hair grow and saw that it was blonde, I knew I wanted to do a Cinderella party someday. She was too little to enjoy it at age one and two. I know by age four she will have a very strong opinion on what her party should be. Her favorite things right now are snakes, kangaroos, mickey mouse, and little Einsteins. She also loves to play barbies, play with tiny princess toys, and her most prized possession is her ne ne (muslin blanket).
Her Cinderella tea party was perfect. My favorite thing was seeing her joy in knowing that this party was all about her. She has been more than happy to attend and participate in all of the other parties we have done. This time was different though. This is the first time she was the focus and it filled her with excitement. I wanted to encourage this so I took every opportunity to dote on her. A huge thanks to my visionaries, my husband, my cousin, and my friends Angela and Casey. We had so many special things personalized just for Ella’s special third birthday.
Ella, my darling girl, you are worth every teacup strawberry. You are worth every butterfly cupcake. You are worth every speck of glitter. If I could I would do this for you again and again, but alas birthdays only come once a year. Can’t wait for your 5th birthday (the next time I will go crazy for you). You are my joy, my delight, my favorite huger, and my spunky princess. I adore you.
This was the morning of her birthday. We opened her presents after breakfast. She loved this attention!
The favorite movie right now is Trolls. It is my favorite too. So fun!
She got light up shoes and a tutu.
Princess Cinderella walking to her tea party.
She is the cutest!
I love how special she felt! She is beautiful.
My dear friend Angela made these cupcakes. They were dairy and egg free due to allergies at the party. Don’t be fooled, they were moist and delicious! The butterflies were edible too.
Did I mention how excited she was that this special day was all about her??
The tea party set up was so darling. I loved everything about her birthday party.
I added some glitz to the pinata since it seemed a little plain to me.
She is so cute.
Mmmm
We had all kinds of princesses attend our party. Elsa, Anna and Belle were just a few of the royal guests.
This royal lad found Cinderella’s glass slipper that I hid for one of the games.
Tea time!
I wanted to do glass tea cups but I decided for a three year old birthday party that wasn’t practical. I think these paper tea cups were perfect.
Ella tried to eat her candle after she blew it out, haha.
She has her own way of doing things including eating cupcakes. Love her!
The girls were obsessed with the edible butterflies. Kat is still talking about this!
Some of our royal guests.
Sir Spider Man, a Royal Knight and Princess Rapunzel came to celebrate as well.
I got her sneaky face!
The favor bags had a few of Ella’s favorite things in them including play dough, bubbles and silly putty.
Ella, it was a joy to celebrate you. You are so special to us! Happy third birthday.
