!! VERY BIG NEWS !!

Friends, family, clients and everyone else… We have some VERY BIG NEWS! No, I am not pregnant. 🙂 A few months ago, my husband was approached by AvL Technologies in Asheville NC. They were interested in hiring Matt for a Senior Mechanical Controls Systems Engineer position (say that ten times fast). I was proud of my husband, as he is awesome and I think anyone would be lucky to have him on their team. Seriously, the guy is brilliant! We weren’t looking for a job change, but after much thought, prayer, and looking into lots of options, we felt God calling us to move to Asheille.

This was NOT an easy decision. Let’s just talk about the logistics for a minute. We have to sell our house, I have to say goodbye to VAP at least for a while (if not forever since my life is c-r-a-z-y and I struggle to find balance right now where we are at), we would be saying goodbye to our closest friends, some of whom are really family. We also have an amazing church here and have been serving with high schoolers in the Alpharetta area for six years.

Needless to say, our hearts are in Georgia, so deciding to move to Asheville was one of the hardest things we have ever done. God spoke LOUD and CLEAR to us, and without His clarity, we would definitely be staying! Let me be honest with you all, I have been secretly hoping for a way out of all of this! Truth. I will miss you all dearly, and saying goodbye will mean leaving a piece of my heart here with you. It is painful! Many (and I mean a whole lot) of tears have been shed over this, and still we feel peace that cannot be explained. We believe this peace is from God, and it is one of the ways we know this is His plan for us. Over and over I have said I do not want to miss out on what God has planned for our family.

We will be relocating August 1st. Gulp. Yep, this is happening and fasssssssssssssst. I also think that is a blessing though. Waiting always exercises my muscles of patience, and those are not my strongest muscles. Haha. So, it is with excitement, promise, peace, joy, fear, tears and so many other things that I tell you….

We are moving to Asheville!!!!!!

In the meantime, what my family and I would LOVE is if you would pray for us. We have a lot of things that need to fall into place for this to be a smooth and easy move/transition. Even if things are a bit bumpy, we are trusting God to provide, no matter the circumstances. What can you pray for specifically?

1. For us to find the perfect rental home (or if God wants us to be in an apartment then pray for ME to be okay with that).

2. Pray that everything would be calm and easy with registering my niece Haley for school, and for her to make lots of new friends.

3. For Matt to enjoy his new job and that he’d be confident in his work and home responsibilities.

4. For my sanity…I will be at home with the kids and have zero friends. Pray for God to prepare a community for us in Asheville where we can make new friends.

5. Pray we would find a great local church where we can attend and get involved in right away.
