KAT’S 6TH BIRTHDAY PARTY | LAUNCH ASHEVILLE | MY LITTLE PONY PARTY NUMBER 2

Kat’s 6th birthday party was supposed to be simple, easy, and of course fun. Oh boy. We saw the My Little Pony Movie tralier in the summer time. When Kat realized it was coming out in October (her birthday month) she immediately wanted a MLP birthday party at the movies. Hearing this was music to my mama ears. Her last birthday party, her epic 5th birthday party, wore me out. Basically for eternity. I just knew that a birthday party at the movies would be easier and I knew this year I needed easy.
We reserved the room at the theater and I had the evite (again, easy people) invitations sent out. When we called the weekend before to confirm the showing time for the movie, we were informed that it would not be playing the weekend of her party. In fact, the weekend we called was the last weekend they would have the movie playing. I started to panic. The Carolina Cinema staff were awesome. They got us free tickets and refunded me the deposit cost. We went to the movies that day and all was well. After talking to Kat, we decided to have her party at chuck-e-cheese. Again, easy, right? Nope. The morning of her party, chuck-e-cheese called me and told me they could not have the party that day because there was a problem with the city water. W-H-A-T? I panicked again except this time I had no plan. It was raining outside and it was 9am (the party started at 10:30am). Thanks to one of my best friends who took action and called around for me (thank you, Angela) we were able to find a place to have her party. Launch Trampoline Park in Asheville saved the day! Really though! If you know me at all, then you know I plan, plan, plan. I was freaking out because Matt’s parents (the grandparents) flew in from Florida and were going to surprise Kat. Her cousins also drove in from Pittsboro. So, we couldn’t easily reschedule. Launch seemed like the perfect place and they were SO FREAKING AWESOME. The staff calmed me down and it was as if we had planned to have her party at Launch the entire time. Thank you, Launch!

Kat and Ella were thrilled to see Grandma and Grandpa. They had no idea they would be there! If you are wondering why Ella has colorful hair, we did fairy hair (rainbow tinsel) and chalk. Ella was Rainbow Dash. She rocked it.

Launch had this great room for us and they were sending staff in to see all of the decorations we had. I know, I am a freak. I am big on parties people, no shame.

My sweet friend, Angela, made this cake! It was amazingly delicious and egg free. Kat’s favorite pony is Fluttershy so she got a custom sign for her! Adorable!

Goody bags!! I found all kinds of MLP stuff at the dollar store (score!!!).

Seeing my big girl enjoy her special party so much made all of the drama we endured for the “easy” party worth it. She loved having her birthday at a trampoline park!

And so did her sister and all of her guests. In fact, cousins Maverick and Courtney loved it so much that they had their party at a trampoline park too.

Courtney and Kat jumping around, all smiles.

And there is a lot more than jumping at Lunch too. This rock wall and foam pit was a hit!

Abi loved it!

Such a happy girl.

Happy 6th birthday, Kat. You are all sparkles, all smiles, and all things joyful lovely and girly. I am honored to watch you grow and I have the privilege of rearing you and raising you. I am not perfect, and I make plenty of mistakes, but know with 100% certainty that you are my delight. Being your mom is one of the highlights of my life. I thank God for you every day and I pray over your life daily as well. You love Jesus with all of your heart and you love others so well. You remind me so much of myself as a child. Truth be told, you are kinder and wiser than I ever was. Just like mommy, you have really strong feelings, you are sensitive and you love happy endings. Right now being your mom means I am not always your friend, but someday I know we will enjoy laughing and crying together while we watch chick flicks (p.s. we already do enjoy some girly movies together, and musicals!!). Mom and dad are so proud of you!!
