KAT’S 5TH BIRTHDAY | BARBIE SPY SQUAD | OCTOBER 2016

So, this post is only a year and a half late. Kat, forgive me. When Kat was 4 her favorite movie was Barbie Spy Squad. So, when her fifth birthday party approached we decided to do a spy party. This was our first big party since leaving Georgia. I wanted to have the party outside in the backyard but October can be unpredictable. It was quite sunny that day and got uncomfortably hot outside…but it was a blast!

The party started by the guests going through our house and picking up a goody bag.

Kat loved every second of this special day. She was all smiles and 100% spy ready.

Matt made this awesome spy training obstacle course. He pretty much amazes me and rocks the whole dad thing like nobody else.

The kids had to go through the obstacle course to become a spy. It was super fun!

Lots of yummy food for the kiddos.

Note the huge pickle and olive spread in the back (some of Kat’s favorite foods).

My amazing cousin made these punching boxes for the kids. There were bubbles inside. It was the perfect way to end the spy course.

Again, my amazing cousin made this pinata. It fit perfectly with the spy theme. All of the kids pulled the strings and lots of goodies came out. No swinging bat for us!

After everyone left, we celebrated with the cousins and had a barbie cake. This was one of the most precious moments of the day. Kat wanted this cake so badly. The fact that she got to keep the barbie thrilled her.

Matt also made these life size barbie boxes. Adorable. We used cardboard from a couch we purchased. They were the perfect size!

And don’t be fooled, this girl LOVED every second of her party. I hope she remembers it forever and ever and ever and ever…because it wore me o-u-t! I don’t plan on doing a party this huge for a loooooooong time.
